Family Man
Here I am a standing at the Pearly Gates,
Wondering if this is real or some big mistake.
Looking back at the past did I do the best I can,
Will people say he was a good family man.
I am just a good old boy from a small community,
As we grow up we were taught to trust our family.
Now that I'm a father and have a family of my own,
Will my children think of me and say I'm glad he was my own.
A family man may often wonder how has he done,
Was he a good father raising his daughter or his son.
Did he use too much tough love or not enough,
Cause when his life is over, his memory is all they've got.
When you're with your friends you ignore some things they do,
But as a father you often express your point of view.
There's many times with your children you tell them what you think,
When all that their looking for is a know and a wink.
A family man may often wonder how has he done,
Was he a good father raising his daughter or his son.
Did he use too much tough love or not enough,
Cause when his life is over, his memory is all they've got.
